What to expect
What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers.
MOPS groups are communities that strive to meet the needs of every mom with children from pregnancy through kindergarten. MOPS recognizes that urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be. MOPS groups can help!
There are more than 3900 MOPS groups meeting across the United States and in 35 countries around the world. MOPS groups meet regularly to celebrate the joys of motherhood and to encourage each other through the challenges.

• A chance to socialize with other moms
• A speaker and/or creative activity
• Rejuvenation and support
• A yummy brunch
• A judgement free zone with moms who care about you
• Prayer for anything that ails you! And if you need some extra care and attention, our mentors are always available for private prayer.
When is MOPS?
Schweitzer MOPS meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month during the school year (Sept-May) with a few exceptions around the holidays.
How much does MOPS cost?
Your first meeting is free! After that, it is $50 biannually. This pays for your annual registration fee of $24 that goes directly to MOPS International, and the remaining cost covers childcare, crafts, breakfast for our moms and snacks for our kids. We have scholarships available for those that need them, just speak to our Coordinator Suzannah or our Assitant Coordinator, Krista
What do I do when I get there?
You can drop off your children in their MOPPETS classroom any time after 9:00. Enter through the entrance labeled entrance B on the north side of the building, go directly down the hall to the Children’s Welcome Desk, here you will utilize our secure childcare system to check in your children before taking them in the secure children’s wing. Children are divided up by age; nursery, 2’s and 3’s, and 4’s and 5’s, there is always a mom or someone from our children’s ministry team that can help direct you. Once your kiddos are dropped off come downstairs for the fun! We meet in Memorial Hall which is downstairs, directly under the sanctuary. Check in anytime after 9 and grab yourself some coffee and catch up with friends (or meet new ones) breakfast begins at 9:15 and announcements start promptly at 9:30. New to Schweitzer? Any of our moms will be happy to direct you to someone that can help you. Let us know you are new and we will be happy to show you around!
What if I am not a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church?
You do not have to be a member of Schweitzer to join. Our moms come from churches all over city and surrounding areas and are from all types of denominations. You do not have to be a certain denomination or even a "church go-er" to attend. You will be welcomed, accepted, and inspired to reach your full potential and recognize your influence within your family and the world!
How do I register?
You can fill out a registration form at your first meeting. Just make sure you arrive a little early so you don't miss any of the fun!
Who can come?
We've all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. We know we mother better together, so all moms are welcome at MOPS. From the time you get pregnant to when your kiddo is in Kindergarten, our doors are open.
