Get involved!

Tuesday at 9:15 - 11:15

The meetings will be twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 am (with childcare drop-off beginning at 9 am). Our first meeting will be on September 11th. The best way to get involved with our MOPS/MOMSnext group is to contact us using the form below or by sending an e-mail to wheatonmops@gmail.com. Also please sign up through the Gary Church website at garychurch.org under the Mops tab to insure childcare. Registration for childcare opens on August 5. It does fill up and we would like to get as many moms as we can with enough people to watch the kids.

    What to expect

The Gary MOPS group stands for Mothers of Preschoolers but we welcome mothers of all seasons with kids of all ages. We are now a MOMSnext group for mothers of older kids also. Our mom group is a gathering of moms coming together for community, conversation and friendship. It is a movement of women who are practicing becoming more brave, kind and honest. Together, because together is always better. The meetings will be twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 am (with childcare drop-off beginning at 9 am). Our first meeting will be on September 11th. Meetings begin with announcements, a devotion, authentic opportunities to connect with other moms with brunch followed by a craft, discussions, or a speaker. We wrap up with questions and clean-up. We also have fun Moms Night Outs, play dates and community volunteering. Moms must register with MOPS International and locally at Gary UMC. Please do not hesitate to register at the Gary site to insure your spot for childcare! MOPS Local Membership: $17 MOPPETS Registration: $60 Please register for the local MOPS at http://www.garychurch.org/10863/form/form_id/470206/MOPS-Registration-2016.

    Who can come?

We've all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. We know we mother better together, so all moms are welcome at MOPS. From the time you get pregnant to when your kiddo is in Kindergarten, our doors are open.

    For the kids

Childcare which is referred to as MOPS Kids is offered from 6 weeks to Pre-K during the meetings so the focus can be on the mom, during those two hours she is not "Mom" but the woman she is herself. Children will get 34 hours of hands on teachings from experienced educators. Please check out MOPS Kids at MOPS.org for a full review of lessons and BOZ the bear. Babies that are 0 to 6 months can be kept with mom during meetings if need be.
