Matthew West Mother's Day Song Contest  Several years ago, when Matthew West invited people to share their stories to serve as inspiration for an upcoming album, he had no idea it would be the start of an amazing journey that would forever change his music, ministry and life. Armed with more than 10,000 stories from fans all over the world, the floodgates of inspiration opened and West crafted a landmark album, The Story of Your Life. Suddenly people were given a voice and a chance for their stories to be heard.
So what’s your story? MOPS International is collaborating with Matthew West to gather mom stories to inspire an original song in honor of Mother’s Day – and we want to hear your story! Do you have a funny or poignant moment in your mothering journey that you’d like to share? Maybe your story inspires others, or maybe you have a fresh perspective on what a typical day in your life as a mom looks like.
The Details
What: Submit a true mom story, in your own words, for a chance to be chosen as the inspiration behind an original Matthew West song to be released in 2013.
When: Email submissions will be accepted Monday, November 26, 2012 through midnight on Friday, December 7, 2012.
How: Email your mom story to: momsongs@MOPS.org. Include your name, telephone number, city/state, and how many children you have.
The Fine Print: Only entries submitted during the deadline period 11/26/12 – 12/7/12 will be considered. Due to the large number of submissions we expect to receive, not all entrants will receive a personal reply. MOPS International will choose several stories to be part of this project. If your story is chosen as part of our national Mother’s Day campaign, we may use your story in print, online or as part of a radio public service announcement. Matthew West is creating an original song in honor of Mother’s Day to honor all moms, and some of the stories we receive will be used as inspiration in his writing.
