Mothers of Preschoolers

Searching for a Parenting Partner
by Elsa Kok Colopy

  • Start close to home: Don’t let pride cause you to overlook family members. A sister, cousin or in-law will already have an attachment to your child and could be a great resource.
  • Get around loving mamas: Carve out time to get involved with MOPS or a women’s ministry at a local church. Keep your eye out for joyful moms who might be just a few steps ahead of you on the parenting journey.
  • Be intentional: Whether you orchestrate play dates or offer to show up with coffee and donuts on a Saturday morning, set a scheduled time and follow through with it.
