"Plant a Group" Program

The "Plant a Group" Program is a way for experienced group leaders to come alongside new leaders as mentors to help them get their group started.

A mentor can work with someone she already knows (like a mom who is part of your group and would like to bring MOPS to her church) OR MOPS can match you with a new leader in your area.

Either way, your experience, kindness and knowledge of already knowing the ins and outs of running a MOPS group will help a new group blossom!

A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could. –Anonymous

By participating in this program you will experience the benefits of helping another group get started and - because we appreciate your help - MOPS will reward your group!

The benefits for YOUR group!

  • $50.00 off Charter Renewal for 2013
  • $50.00 MOPShop gift certificate

Specials for the new group!

  • Reduced new group fee
  • New Ministry Kit provides leader training and group resources to get your new group started
  • Mentoring from an experienced group leader who will walk alongside you and help you through the first year

*This offer is for starting a new group. This special offer does not apply to additional groups.

How to get started:

  1. Share the Plant A Group Program info with the other leaders of your group.
More “MOPS Meets here” signs in front of churches equals more MOPS recognition, which will bring more moms into your group too!
Talk about sharing your experience and helping another leader get started. You may have someone from your group who would like to start a MOPS group at her church!
  2. Contact the Ministry Outreach Team at 888-910-6677 or startagroup@MOPS.org and let us know you would like to mentor a new group leader through the Plant a Group Program.

What would I do?

  • Help the new group leader connect with MOPS International through the Ministry Outreach Team 888-910-MOPS or startagroup@MOPS.org) or your local Field Leader.
  • Encourage the new leader through prayer, emails and phone calls.
  • Answer questions and help the leader find the answers they need.
  • Help her plan the first leadership meeting and help through the planning process of the first year.
  • Offer help and guidance navigating group management, registering leaders, renewing and downloading MOPS resources.
