Spaces Traded:
Sheila Doherty's Scrapbook Studio

As her creative haven, her peaceful paradise, Sheila's scrapbook studio was in need of some help. Two years ago a small heater fire left it sooty and messy - although cleaned, walls were half-painted and the room left a lot to be desired when Sheila entered the Trade Your Problem Space Contest. "With my husband a contractor," says Sheila, "you’d think we’d have found the answer, but you know what they say about the doctors’ kids always being sick? Same thing goes for the contractor’s home never being finished."

Sheila was thrilled when she was selected as a winner but nervous about meeting Laurie Smith of Trading Spaces. "Since Laurie is a celebrity, I was a bit worried that my preconceived ideas about her would be shattered upon meeting her," confessed Sheila. "From watching the show, she always seemed so down-to-earth and friendly. When I met her during our lunch, she was just as approachable as she seems on the show which just made the experience all the more memorable. I loved her ideas for my scrapbook studio and I'm glad that she inspired me to use my God-given talent to put my finishing touches on the room." Encouraged to "scrapbook" the walls of her studio, Sheila returned home to get started ... and the finished project is full of memories!
