Best Ever Cookies

Ingredients:

Directions:  

1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Cream sugars, oil and butter.
3. Add egg and vanilla; mix in flour, oats, cream of tarter and Rice Krispies.
4. Stir in chip and coconut; roll into balls.
5. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8-10 minutes.

To entertain you children, try the following crafts with an empty oatmeal box.

Car Tunnel: With scissors or exacto-knife cut off bottom and top of oatmeal box. Cut box in half lengthwise. Cover outside of box half with brown paper. Decorate with crayons and turn upside down for a tunnel.

Mailbox: Cover box with paper and decorate for Valentine’s Day. Cut a slot in the side of the box for letters and write the child’s name beside it. Write “U.S. Mail” on lid and send love notes to your child.

Drum: Cut box down to 6½” — 7” in length. Cover box with gift wrap or construction paper. Tape in place. Punch two holes in sides near end of box. Thread ribbon through holes (measure length to go from one side of drum up in back of child’s neck and down to the other side of the drum). Knot ribbon on inside. Use spoons for drumsticks.
