Community Coach

Position Details

Committed Hours: 15 hours per month
Length of Commitment: Two years minimum

Purpose: To provide leadership to the MOPS International Communities through ensuring group retention and support of local MOPS groups. Responsible for Community group retention, MOPS International Membership participation and Service goals. Utilize leadership experience, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, public speaking skills and written/verbal communication skills in order to accomplish this purpose and to support the vision of MOPS International.

Scope: Mobilizes assigned groups to provide personal and group coaching as well as support through one-on-one interaction and Community meetings. Responsible for developing a strong relationship with each Chartering Ministry. She is accountable to the Community Developer.

General Responsibilities:

  • Read and be responsible for knowing the content of all MOPS Handbooks provided by MOPS International, Connections magazine, www.MOPS.org, www.MOPSFieldLeaders.org, and other materials or e-mails sent from MOPS International.
  • Expected attendance at MOPS International Convention, as well as MOPS training events that are within reasonable proximity of the Coach’s home. Attend Field Leader training held in conjunction with Convention or MOPS training events. Assist with any other MOPS International events in the Area.
  • Communicate with Community Developer regularly and attend training held within the Area.
  • Communicate with MOPS International by submitting monthly hours and Field Leader Expense Report to Community Developer as needed.
  • Complete a year-end Evaluation and Commitment Renewal for MOPS International.
  • Submit annual goals and review them periodically with the Community Developer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Responsibilities
    • Maintain Community group retention of at least 90%.
    • Plan and conduct at least two Community training events each year.
    • Responsibilities may include communication with the host church and MOPS group, selecting training topics, securing speakers and networking facilitators and writing thank you notes.
    • Submit Event Planning Form to Community Developer eight weeks prior to each Community meeting. Order supplies from Administrative Assistant using Field Leader Supply Order Form.
    • Submit Community Meeting Report no later than two weeks after Community meeting. Return Community offering and Community Offering Remittance Form to MOPS International within three days.
    • Develop strong relationships with Chartering Ministry leaders (including family, women’s and mentor ministry leaders) within the Community through on-going one-on-one interaction and support with a minimum of two contacts a year.
  • Group Responsibilities
    • Provide ongoing support and training to assigned MOPS group leadership through phone calls, e-mails, written notes, and prayer. On-site visits are an option as the need arises.
    • Facilitate two-way communication between MOPS International and groups.
    • Communicate MOPS International vision, updates, news and opportunities to assigned groups.
    • Communicate assigned group information, updates and needs to the Community Developer and MOPS International staff.
    • Provide resources or assistance to individuals or ministries interested in starting a MOPS group.
    • Contact newly assigned MOPS groups with a welcome call and other scheduled follow-up. Provide feedback to CD on support given to new groups using the New Group Checklist.
  • Provide consultation and training for established MOPS groups. Keep Community Developer informed of any groups that are considering dropping their charter, so that assistance may be offered in a timely manner.

  • Able to sign MOPS International Statement of Faith, Ministry Values and Statement of Volunteer

Statement of Conduct: Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and maintains a Christ-like attitude in dealing with people inside and outside of MOPS. Is willing to uphold the MOPS International staff and ministry in prayer and aligns with the MOPS International mission and vision.
