The Be Brave 2014 Kissing Challenge

Warm summer nights + chick flick + husband = hot kisses. Right?

When’s the last time you’ve been kissed?

I mean really kissed.

Kissed like the leading actress in one of your favorite films.

My top 10 onscreen kisses are:

10. The spaghetti dinner kiss in Lady and the Tramp.
9. The boat is about to sink kiss in Titanic.
8. The city is on fire kiss in Gone With the Wind.
7. The “Love is Strange” kiss in Dirty Dancing.
6. The you smell good enough to eat kiss in Twilight.
5. The church tongue kiss in The Wedding Singer.
4. The pottery kiss in Ghost.
3. The “Take My Breath Away” kiss in Top Gun.
2. The upside down kiss in Spiderman.
1. The summer storm kiss in The Notebook.

There’s nothing like a good kiss, and yet some married couples choose to opt out.  They may swap a quick before-ya-go or welcome-home-but-get-out-of-my-way-because-I’m-busy kiss, but beyond that, kissing has become a lost art. Where did all the kisses go!?!!

Dating couples understand a good date involves going to dinner, maybe even a movie, and spending the rest of the time kissing. Lots of kissing! Of course, dates may also include spending time talking, dreaming, laughing and making memories, but let’s be honest, part of making memories involves making out.

Has kissing become a thing of the past in your marriage? If your answer is yes, then join The Be Brave 2014 Kissing Challenge.

The Be Brave 2014 Kissing Challenge is a commitment to kiss your husband passionately every day for a month. Yes, I said a month. Pecks don’t count. I’m talking about real kisses. The kind of kiss that leaves you breathless and makes onscreen kisses pale in comparison. It doesn’t have to be a make-out marathon, but it does have to be the kind of kiss that says, “Welcome home. I’m glad to see you, and just in case you’re wondering, I can’t get enough of you.”

Why am I issuing a kissing challenge? It’s simple. Kissing is good for relationships. Kissing is exciting, intimate and fun. Kissing even burns calories! Did you know that passionate kissing burns 6.4 calories a minute? A Hershey’s Kiss contains 26 calories, which takes five minutes of walking or about four minutes of kissing to burn off. I think I’ve found my new workout regimen, girls.

Be brave! Take the challenge. Start today. You can do it!

How fun! Life gets busy and we need to remember to stop and KISS. My husband thought this challenge was an awesome idea. We're in!

What a challenge! Hubby and I are going to to try to do this every day he is home - he travels for work so we can't do every day :)

I rarely enjoy kissing any more though my husband would love it if I did this. I don't know if it's my depression, chronic pain and constant exhaustion or something else? I loved kissing when we dated and we've only been married 4 years (though I'm 40, and a second marriage for both). My husband is attractive, kind and wonderful to me. What can I do to get the enjoyment back in kissing?

Love this! We started kissing for 15 seconds a day...which is a long time when u stop to do it. Sometimes 15 seconds is all you have before your kids start having a tantrum or try to kill themselves with the TV cord.

My hubby and I are going to try this for the month of September! Today is day 1 :) Excited to try this as we have gotten into a rut of pecks.....off to find him now :)

I'll bet you had a fabulous labor day, Andrea. :)

Kristen I am loving the cute flower in your hair!

Thank you!!! So sweet!

Oh, the missing kiss from the list is between "Watts" and "Keith" from the classic 80's movie Some Kind of Wonderful. : ) Love this challenge! Thanks.

Reply

TIffany, you are correct! Every classic '80s movie kiss should be on this list!

For the most part kissing has always been missing in my relationship. My hubby simply tells me that he's just not into it and to be honest I believe him. Anytime I want a kiss or try to kiss him it's like pulling teeth and this includes if I give him a passionate kiss. He kisses me occasionally but like I said most of the time I really have to beg him for it at this point I just accepted that it's just him it's who he is. Don't get me wrong he shows me affection in other ways I wish he liked kissing but he doesn't he just doesn't. If anything he's taught me that maybe there are some guys out there that just aren't into it! It's a cute idea though your challenge but for me I don't think it's an option.

I hear what you are saying, Nadia. I don't think you have to write yourself off from this challenge! Not all guys - or us women, for that matter, are into a full on make-out session. Try something a little different like finding a different spot to kiss him in every day for a month. I'm thinking back of the neck, ear lobe, hand, forehead. Unexpected tender kisses like that can be just as meaningful as a full on spit-swapping session. :o)

That's true I guess I can do the challenge just in a different way.

I love love love this. I shared it on my Facebook wall last night and about 20 minutes later my husband have me the sweetest take your breath away kiss that still has me smiling like a teenager! Challenge accepted!!!

Love that! Keep those home fires burning, Jene'!!

I love the kiss on the baseball field in Never Been Kissed

That movie was just on tv! It's a fun one.

I liked the scene in Crazy, Stupid Love where Hannah went to the bar and kissed Jacob.

Reply

We're talking about Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. How can you complain about an onscreen kiss between the two of them!

Reply

Princess Bride, last scene, riding away from the castle into the sunset, on white horses..."since the invention of kisses, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind" .... oh what a lovely scene. ...

Debbie, I am simply *swooning*!
