I'm looking forward to just sitting back and enjoying my children's excitement for the entire day. My son is 4 and gets excited about anything that's wrapped up :) And my daughter is almost 2 and is just started to understand the holiday. I am dreading the day after Christmas - I have to have surgery and that was the only day available in the time frame my doctor gave me :(

What I'm really looking forward to is having my entire family together on Christmas morning. My husband & I have to work during the holidays, including Christmas Eve night shift (me at a local hospital). I am most looking forward to spending time with my family and celebrating the real reason for the season! Sitting around the fireplace with some hot cocoa listening to the Christmas story and attending the Christmas Eve service at church. Those quiet, reflective moments aside from the hustle and bustle of everything else, is what I cherish most. What I am dreading most is the having to run to the store to grab a last minute gift or ingredient and having to wait in a line a mile long. Trying to stock up now to avoid this happening later. :)

My family lives out of state but I am looking forward to being at my parent's house for a few days before and including Christmas Eve and going to Vespers Service at the church where I grew up. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family, and enjoying my kids' reaction to all things Christmas. We emphasize Jesus as the reason we celebrate, but we also do "Santa" (who believes in Jesus and gets his special abilities from Him to help others).
